Student life

Live well, learn well

Student life is more than studies. On campus or off campus, you can explore your interests, learn new skills, build life-long friendships, and develop both personally and professionally.

In addition to great leisure activities, themed events and extracurricular clubs, HIM is ideally located to maximize living in Switzerland. Be it outdoor or cultural activities you seek, the choices are unlimited.

Life outside the classroom

Sports Day

Staying active

As a student, you have access to fitness facilities near the school. We also have football, cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, and badminton teams with weekly training and external competitions, such as the Swiss Education Group Sports Day, which brings students together from across all our sister schools once a term.

All fun and games

Each new term starts with a bang when students literally break the ice by smashing an ice sculpture! That's just the beginning of a series of banquets, themed events, and cultural nights where you get a firsthand experience of hospitality, great food, and fun with your fellow classmates.

Our wellbeing vision

We strive to create an environment where students thrive academically, emotionally, and physically through holistic development, positive relationships, and support systems.

At HIM we prioritize the wellbeing of our students, for we recognize the significant impact it has on their overall health and success. We are committed to fostering an environment that promotes and supports wellbeing in all aspects of life.

Our approach to wellbeing is all-encompassing and includes physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects. A holistic approach is crucial in creating an environment where our students can thrive.

Student Ambassador Forum at HIM

Student Ambassador Forum

Fostering the next generation of leaders

Each term, students elect a committee of peers who represent them to improve the student experience on campus. Fostering a spirit of democratic cooperation among the student body, the committee works together as a mini-company, with each member serving in a different capacity.

Their involvement on campus includes organizing events and parties, promoting student activities on social media, putting together the yearbook, expressing academic concerns to faculty, and supervising school clubs.

Exploring Switzerland and beyond

Switzerland Mountains

Organized excursions

Every term, we offer free excursions to some of Switzerland’s top cities and destinations so you can enjoy all the country has to offer. Whether you’re visiting the capital of Bern, or another sought-after site such as Lucerne, Zurich, or Interlaken, you’ll have many opportunities to explore, shop, dine, and discover Switzerland’s unique culture.
